Umarak’s rare parts include this year’s upper and lower torso beams in their default colors, as well as a Black giant chest plate with two ball snaps (Design ID 98604 | Element ID 6014038), previously only available in last year’s 70789 Onua Master of Earth. All of those rare Warm Gold parts but the feet are shared with last year’s version of Ekimu, which is a nice bit of design continuity. Finally, the set includes two 3x7x3 feet in Warm Gold (Design ID 90661 | Element ID 6133770), which have only been in five previous sets. Light Blue (Design ID 93575 | Element ID 6043685), their seventh appearance in that color. Light Blue saw blade (Design ID 61403 | Element ID 6079018), which appeared in two previous sets. Also rare are the set’s three Warm Gold /Pearl Gold piston shells (Design ID 19087 | Element ID 6102792), which have appeared in five previous sets, and two Warm Gold shoulder shells (Design ID 15369 | Element ID 6075042), which have appeared in six previous sets.Įkimu’s shield features a Warm Gold decorative carriage wheel (Design ID 15744 | Element ID 6058138), which appeared in five previous sets, and a Tr. Regardless, it’s appreciated, as the color combination looks quite striking!Įkimu’s rare parts include this year’s Black 5x10 upper torso beam (Design ID 24190 | Element ID 6135125) and Titanium Metallic lower torso beam (Design ID 24189 | Element ID 6139106), both of which are shared with this year’s six Toa, Lava Beast, and both versions of Umarak. Perhaps it’s simply meant to be something for Ekimu to either seek out or smash if you don’t own any other Bionicle sets, or perhaps it is an artifact from before this year’s story was rewritten to make it Bionicle G2’s finale.

#SUMMER 2017 LEGO SETS BIONICLE SERIES#
The significance of this mask (Design ID 24164 | Element ID 6154810) is not entirely clear, as it does not appear at any time in the Netflix series LEGO Bionicle: The Journey to One. In the center of its chest is a new symbol, a stylized anvil representing Ekimu, and to the left and right are the symbols of the six Toa, signifying Ekimu’s role as their mentor and spiritual leader.įinally, the set comes with a recolor of Umarak the Hunter’s Hunter Mask, now in a blend of Titanium Metallic /Pearl Dark Gray and Tr. He also wears the same new torso shell as the six Toa released earlier this year, but now in Transparent Light Blue with printed gold armor and brown belts (Design ID 26419 | Element ID 6150073). Light Blue (Design ID 20477 | Element ID 6145448), a brilliant new look for it. In terms of recolors, Ekimu wears the Mask of Creation in Tr. Light Blue, the same color as in 71314 Storm Beast (Design ID 25534 | Element ID 6150182), and is used for the head of Ekimu’s new hammer. The Mask Maker only includes one new mold, the crystal shell seen previously in Andrew’s review of the three Elemental Beast sets.

Let’s begin by looking at the new parts of Ekimu.
